Marcus Reese
With a background in screenwriting, MJ Reese is a filmmaker/writer with a B.A. in Film & Media and an M.A. in Communications with a concentration in Film Production from Georgia State University. As a writing assistant and mentee of Emmy-Nominated Writer Susan-Sojourna Collier, and a Script Reader for the Austin Film Festival, he has provided extensive script coverage and script doctoring services with extensive knowledge of industry standards. MJ has served as the screenwriter for the upcoming short film The Virtual Babysitter produced by Viviane Brazil and Al G Sillah and has served. as a ghostwriter on screenplays.

Karin Smoot
I am a writer, idea cultivator and creative strategist. I am the Special Projects Manager for the City of South Fulton, Atlanta's Twin City & the Blackest City in America, former Program Manager for The Center of Excellence for Minority Women in STEM at Spelman College where I created signature programming highlighting the work of really smart black women for really smart black women! I am Director of Communcations for the Collier Writing Fellowship, under the direction of founder and Emmy Award winning writer Susan Sojourna Collier. I am the Director of Communications for DJs Against Hunger (www.djsxhunger.org), a Brooklyn based nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity through DJ powered events (partying with purpose). I am the former Graduate Program Manager for the School of Film, Media & Theatre at Georgia State University responsible where under my direction helped such noted talents and film school graduate and friend Nicci Carr of the famed “Scoop There It Is” Geico commercial and breakout talents such as M.A. graduate and friend Timothy Richardson lead actor in the critically acclaimed film “B-Boy Blues”. I’ve written for various publications in and around the city of Atlanta including the Atlanta Daily World, The Atlanta Journal & Constitution, The Atlanta Voice, VOX Youth Communications, Rebirth Mag, Media Black, and Conscious Magazine. I am a native of Brooklyn, NY. I received my BA in Journalism, a second BA in English (Literary Studies) and an MPA in Nonprofit management from Georgia State University. I’ve worked with various nonprofit organizations including the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement and the Federation of Southern Cooperatives. On the Atlanta night life scene I am known for hosting various soulful house music events and most notably, I am the former Festival Director of House in the Park Atlanta (2008-2016) But, of all my accomplishments and activities the most important and rewarding is that of mother to a magical 11 year old daughter who’s an aspiriing artist with dreams of becoming an influencer in the digital art space and an astronaut!
